What are the bamboo products made of?

Our products are made from FSC-certified bamboo fibres, blended with food-grade corn starch, food-grade melamine and food-grade colourant.

Why do you still have to use food-grade melamine?

Our products are mainly made of bamboo fibres and corn starch (up to 90%). The food-grade melamine helps bind the organic materials together to make the shape and form.

How are the bamboo products made?

We mix FSC-certified bamboo fibres, food-grade corn starch, food-grade melamine and food-grade colourant together. Then they are poured into moulds, pressed and heated to a high temperature. They are then taken off the moulds and polished, ready for use.

Where are the bamboo products made?

Our products are designed in Australia and made in China. China is the world’s biggest producer of bamboo, so it makes sense to have our products made in China. Our suppliers have been carefully vetted to ensure they come with all the required certifications to comply with Australian standards.

Can you explain all the jargons please?

Sure thing! We spent months looking for suppliers who could provide all the right certification so you should know too what the jargons mean.

Why bamboo?

Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the world. Bamboo grows on very little water and doesn’t require fertilisers or pesticides to grow. It is natural and biodegradable, and naturally anti-bacterial.

How durable are the bamboo products?

While our bamboo products are durable, they are not unbreakable when dropped or knocked onto a hard surface. However, unlike ceramic or glassware that shatters and become a safety hazard, our bamboo products will just chip or crack.

Are your products dishwasher safe?

Yes they are. We recommend placing them on the top-rack of your dishwasher.

Can I use your products in a microwave?

As our products mainly consist of natural materials, they are not suitable to be used in a microwave.

Where are you based?

We are an Australian owned company based in the Hills District of Sydney, New South Wales.

Can I pick up my order instead of getting it delivered?

Sorry, pick up is not available. All orders will be dispatched via Australia Post.
